Our Mission

The mission of the Student Preparatory and Athletic Development Enrichment Program (S.P.A.D.E.) is to be the catalyst that transforms the young student-athlete into high character leaders both on and off the court and/or field of life.

Our Vision

To promote individual student-athlete growth and success based on resilience, empathy, ambition, work ethic, patience, academic stamina and self awareness so that each student-athlete may be empowered to reach their maximum potential in order to ensure a better quality academic and athletic experience filled with purpose and direction.

Our Philosophy

People learn 10% of what they hear, 50% of what they see and 80% of what they do. Our approach to developing the student-athlete as a whole person is grounded in experiential and brain based learning opportunities.
Helping student-athletes gain a better understanding of life skills they will need to be successful while enhancing their athletic experience through body-mind training.

SPADE Goals

Student-athletes need and deserve every opportunity to be successful both academically and athletically. Athletics provide a great educational experience because they teach important values for dealing with circumstances of life. Here at SPADE we focus on:

  • Teaching student-athletes to value academic goals just as much as athletic ones.
  • Developing an identity beyond that of being an athlete.
  • Developing leadership skills
  • Community Enrichment
  • Student-athlete welfare initiatives
  • Athletic training and combine prep
  • Training the student-athlete’s mind for success

Positive athletic experiences don’t occur by chance. They are the result of a structured educational environment created by the coach. Our coaches and counselors have high expectations of our student-athletes. Our Student-Athlete Profile Assessments will allow for systematic approaches to teach comprehension of skills and techniques, know and understand each student-athletes abilities and vary teaching and coaching strategies accordingly, while approaching discipline through prevention whenever possible.
